A tiering tournament will be held in April 2012 weather permitting. The purpose of this tournament is to ensure that teams are playing in a division that is suitable to their skills. In the event that the tournament is cancelled due to weather conditions, a committee will decide tiering based on past performance as well as discussions with umpires, EYSA reps and coaches.

The tiering (dependant on the number of teams) will be: HOUSE League, SELECT League and PREMIER League.  House and Select League will play EYSA rules and the PREMIER League will play CASA rules.

During league play, an umpire will be provided at games if available.  Otherwise, the home team will supply a plate umpire and the visiting team will supply a base umpire. The season is from May 2012 to June 2012. City finals are scheduled to be played in June. All teams have the opportunity to apply to Softball Alberta for Provincials.
